adventures in camping

Rule number one: Get out of the city and away from the traffic. We planned to spend the weekend with our friends, without the hussle and bussle of city life, and this is how it began... After a two hour drive, west of the city...somewhere the landscape changed from towering buildings and warehouses to fields of wheat, rows of corn, and two lane roads. As soon as we arrived at our destination we began a bonfire, grabbed the marshmellows and made some smores!
On Saturday, we spent most of the day in the beautiful blues: sky and water. It wasn't long after arriving poolside, though, that it was time for adult swim. Poor kids. Look at those faces trying to be patient...baking in the sun.

The "adults" took full advantage of the non kiddie environment, but I still believe that belly flops should be illeagal!
Lots of good, quality swim time is what we got. It was a beautiful way to spend the afternoon.
Later on, we hit the mini golf course and putted our way around.
We topped it off with some ice cream fit for a king!
Rule number 2: Remember this cool camping weekend...

This looks fun! Lots of pics of the kids, but where are the grown-ups?

What a fabulous trip! Great pictures! Was that Chato doing a belly flop? If he gets enough practice in before you take a cruise, he can WIN the belly flop contest they have onboard! (Although, there are some expert belly floppers on the ships with much more power (bigger bellys). Maybe Chato needs to practice a whole bunch).
