Five years ago, Brandan had his first "incident" where he suffered what I call an "absence attack". Some docs say it was a "breath holding spell", while others labeled his illness as "absence seizures". After he had been through three of these incidents, he was placed on meds to control the epilepsy. Finally, after one last EEG, a 24 hour one at home, he has hopes of walking away from the daily dosage and getting back to being a kid. He wasn't thrilled to have to partake in this event OUTSIDE of the doctor's office, but was positive that the test would take him away from the dreaded pill popping. With all his little "suction cup probes" in place the technician wrapped him up to keep them all safe and sound during the monitoring time.
He agreed to let me take his picture so that friends and family members could see that he was just fine, in good spirits, and on his way to breaking free!
I think it tickles him just because he adores the special attention he received all day long! YAY! Brandan, it is almost official- no more medication!!
