weekend in review

We were on the go for most of this past weekend. There's ALWAYS somewhere to be, something to see, and something to DO in the summertime! On Friday evening we hit a local field with some of our very best friends to watch an outdoor movie in the park: Ratatoullie! While waiting for the movie to start there is always plenty to get ourselves involved it - something to pass the time...entertainment is this kid's specialty. Brandan turned himself upside down and Dad helped out by keeping him that way. He walked around for quite sometime like an upside down monkey having the time of his life. Well, he did so until it made him hungry enough to stop. And that's when he hit us up for money for the snack stand. This is Cris Cris. There is nothing cuter in the whole world than this little face!
He is such a joy to be around and great buddy to be with on a warm summer night.
Ceci, Cris and I got comfy while the kids attacked the snack stand.
Now, why on Earth would I think they were going to buy real food to eat?
When they both returned from the SECOND trip to the snack stand, it was snow cones they had in their hands. Ah, but who could blame them on a warm, bug-biting summer evening. There is nothing like the flavors on a icy, cold snow cone that drips down your hand as you are trying to slurp it up!

On Saturday, we ran a couple of errands and decided to stop by Mom and Dad's for a cookout. With the grill out of gas, we pulled out the travel companion with some charcoal. Now isn't that the tiniest little thing you've ever seen? It didn't matter much because it grilled up some mighty good hamburgers and hotdogs!! Forget about those huge gas power grills - ours was one to be reckoned with!
On Sunday, a cool pool was needed to fight the humidity. We gathered up some friends and headed out to find some water. Splash games are the best (or at least I think I remember them that way) so it was fun to watch the kids take turns splashing one another. Aly got the best of it here...
Brandan wants to live in his googles.
He probably would if I would let him. Now, just how much he can see out of them is of no consequence. Is he having fun? That's all that matters.
This cutie's first time in a BIG pool - and he took to it like a fish in water.
Alex grabbed on to a tube and flayed and kicked all over the place.

My SIL and my niece relaxed on the side of the pool. Aren't they beautiful?
Giselle looks just like Griselda did when she was this age.

By the time this day was over, the kids were pooped from swimming. Brandan and Cristian kicked back in the swing enjoying the last few moments before the sun went down.
All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. Good company, good food, good times.

Time well spent.
