Last year, when our third grade team decided to dress up as the four seasons (not the Jersey boys) and Mother Earth, we lost "Spring" to illness and "Summer" to a professional development session. This year, we just about got it right!
We came upon Dorothy wandering the yellow brick road...

...who then found the scarecrow pondering in a field...

...and the there was the tinman searching for a little compassion...

...and the cowardly lion (who came to school without a costume and was pieced together by her third grade colleagues in about five minutes flat!)...

...and don't forget the WITCH, which we all now know could never be as "wicked" as she looks!

In the end, we all found happiness in our little area of OZ!

Now, It would seem that we would be easily enough identified, but our students all had different ideas on most of our characters. Dorothy was asked if she was Swedish and held a strong resemblence to Swiss Miss! I found that the Tinman also resembles an astronaut, a robot, and crazy enough... CHOCOLATE (Hershey's kiss?) Oh, what ever they thought we had fun while it lasted and the lion learned a lesson from hiding in her classroom!
