...a good lens. 50mm F/1.8 AF Nikkor. My heart's content. My favorite aspect of photography is playing with aperture. Now it is easier than moving a finger. I got the kids in a cooperative mood and I love the results. Blurry just beyond the point of importance...
...goofy smiles as sharp as can be...
Yesterday, we invited our favorite fountain buddies back for some more water fun in our tiny backyard oasis. It is amazing what a cup of water and nine kids can come up with! They splashed and kicked and squirted water until their hearts were content. It is the best thing about this group - they range in age for one to ten years old, but never seem to tire of one another's company. After about an hour in the pool, Brandan concocted some "carnival" games where everyone won tickets and redeemed them for prizes in the end!! I wished I had snapped some pictures of that, but there was no way I was going to interrupt their totally focused efforts!! (And Brandan gave away some of his old "junk"...errr...wonderful toys as prizes!!)

Love the two on the grass! I love the green background the grass makes. I love green!!!
How fun Candi!!!! I KNEW you would love the lens!!!! It took a little while for me to get used to the auto focus, and I still can't use it for action pictures b/c of the auto-focus (I am not fast enough-get too many blurry pics!), but it is my absolute FAVE lens!!!
its supose to arrive on the first ... so wensday. but the pictures you have look awsome. love the "blurry just beyond the point of improtance" :)
OK...First of all, you MUST frame those two pics of the kids on the grass...side by side on a wall in the house somewhere!! They are too perfect NOT to frame them!
Secondly, you are raising a little entrepenuer! Brandan creating a carnival with tickets and giving away prizes?? Pure genius!
