off to the library...

This year's CPL reading program highlights the Lincoln Bicentennial - Brandan's heart nearly skipped a beat. We headed out the door bright and early to sign on and check out a few good books (and videos) for the rainy days ahead. Just in case, we took along an enormous umbrella to protect us from the eminent weather, and skipped our way down the street.

A few good finds later and we were surrounded in the peace and quiet (a mom's sweet serenity) of other worlds and dreams of varying imaginations.

Back at home, we served ourselves a yogurt parfait snack and settled in -for about 45 minutes- before it was time to shake some energy loose! Aly is now out in the garage digging through some of my teacher boxes, and Brandan has a new found love with the Wii's Madden football '09. Gotta love rainy day activities.

Glad to see I'm not the only one looking for ways to keep the kids occupied on rainy days. The library is one of our regular hot spots too!

I remember the good days of summer (no rain here) and going to the library and checking out tons of books! :)
