Brandan celebrated his first communion today. Nerves on end and a bit feverish at the start, he was very excited to head off to church. I was in uncharted territory, being raised southern Baptist, I was unsure of all of the protocals I needed to follow. The day was a cool one, with just a hint of sunshine as we headed out the door. His smile warmed my heart.
He was gifted with his very first Bible this morning, too. He has become such an avid reader lately, loving to make connections to himself and draw on the text. I hope that he continues this here, as well.
In the end, this little boy was content with his commitment, and his little heart shone throughout the ceremony. I am so proud of you, Brandan!

OMG!!!!! How freaking cute is he?!?!?!?! I know it's been only a little over a year, but WOW! Totally different kid!
