Welcome to Louisville, KY

It think this trip was a kick. But for most people, and I bet you are one of them, aren't sure how to pronounce the name of this fine city...as for me and my family, we go with Loouval. It is that perfect southern drawl that makes it sound just right. So right back to being funny, I think it is great that the city recognizes this in banners all over town! Now, a bit of a backstory for you: Since birth I have travelled back and forth in and out of the outskirts of this quaint KY town. My Mom's hometown is less than two hours from here, but it was never a stomping ground for us as we simply crossed through on the JFK bridge over the OHIO River entering KY and leaving Indiana on the other side. So when we finally made it a point to visit, I sat down to see what we could get ourselves into and get OFF that bridge.
I made reservations at the Galt Hotel, the only one that sit directly on the banks of the river and over looks the long stretch from one state to another. Our hotel was outstanding with the perfect touch of southern hospitality. We stayed up on the fifteenth floor and were perfectly comfortable with all of the little amenities.
The view from our window made me proud that we made the decision to stop, get off that bridge, and stay awhile. Although it was short lived, for only a day, I think we are glad to have had the opportunity.
Keep an open eye...there are more Loouval adventures that lie ahead!
