My heart is content with these Hawaiian colors!

I've learned that scrapping Hawaii has made my color palette expand by leaps and bounds. I am my Momma's daughter and surely favor browns in my layouts, but exploring gloriously brighter hues has made my day recently. I have hit 27 pages in my album, and I have quite a few important pages yet to design and discover! Check out my latest: above: My son - the king of necklaces. He fell in love with carved stone and painted beads. Most days he wore one and bought another for that day's souvenir. It is really the only souvenirs he requested, but he arrived home and gifted his best friends, Alex and Cristian, with one each.
below: Our trip to Hawaii's Pipeline was a rainy one, so we didn't get to see too many brave "dudes" hangin' ten on the ENORMOUS waves that broke here. Brandan found the signs hilarious - not something you see on the street corner!

above: This boy and his hair! It was bad enough that we had let him LET it grow so long that it hung in his eyes, but once wet - he figured it was a great tool to soak those around him!

below: It was in my heart to hit the "REAL" shave ice joint that President Obama had visited only a few nights before, so that we could enjoy the hype that surrounded this delicious concoction. Only we didn't rent a car. Only it was too far to walk. Only a taxi would have cost us more than the shave ice, itself!! If only...

footnote: This is Aly, very visible here, unlike most of the above layouts. If I could snap her when she wasn't looking - I had a more favorable shot. If she knew the camera was pointed in her direction - most times she gave me a hard time or bratty face. This is her footnote to the album when she asks years from now - "Why didn't you make any pages for me?" Now she knows - you were there, kiddo! Just not willing to participate along the way.
