I don't often post much about my classroom, but...
...this is my favorite week out of the year. Now, it is unfortunate that this week always lands squarely on top of state testing week - but some would say it is directly planned that way so that little third grade brains don't begin to ooze out their little ears from the intense test taking. Each afternoon throughout the week we open and explore the worlds of many an artist (most of them long gone) who left a mark on the artistic scene in unusual and enlightening ways.

My favorite part (even though the kids are reluctant to try it at first) is when they set aside the paint, crayons, and glue for their pencils and sketch the Great DaVinci's Mona.
