For the LOVE of good FRIENDS

We really have the great fortune to be surrounded by a whirlwind of amazing people. I really believe that I am a better person for knowing such inspiring people. Yesterday, for instance, my third grade team headed over the National Museum of Mexican Art (formally known as the Mexican Fine Arts Museum) for a workshop. We won't mention how inspiring it was, but I think that my team will agree that it was one heck of a fun time for us, as we sat back and took the time to enjoy the company that we always feel rushed at every other point in our lives. My girl Nichole is just one of those lively spirits...There is no one I know who is as spunky, LOUD, and wonderfully organized (as any outstanding teacher should be!) as she is. She is always a good eye to have around and caught this on a museum wall:
Who is she? Well it is the Mona Lupe, of course!

Then today, we headed out bright and early, with Chico and Laura plus a truckload of kids, to pick up Chato and Chico's running numbers and timers. On this freezing, crazy cold weather day, down at Navy Pier there were runners and fitness freaks as far as the eye could wander. These best buddies will have an amazingly COLD run in the AM tomorrow. (So not looking forward to being the "camera girl" for this event.)

The kids had a blast collecting all the souvenirs and handouts that the EXPO had to offer. Whoever came up with the bright idea to pass out mini beach ball that bounced all over the place -under feet, off of walls, into stranger's laps...
Well, I'd like to have a word with them.

But, at whatever the cost of embarrassment and apologies, it was time well spent in a warm and inviting venue. These guys, typically, get along at the drop of a hat.

And, I must say - these are my favorites of the day. Now, if I could bring this brick wall home with me - I would use it as a backdrop NONSTOP.

Still looking to stay warm and enjoy the day, we headed out to the theater to catch Monsters vs. Aliens on a 3D screen.
Half the fun was getting the snacks and trying out the 3D glasses...

Great times. Great friends. The world wouldn't be the same without you!

Ok. first...Nolan saw my picture and asked if that was from when I was pregnant. Second...the Mona Lupe is still freakin funny! Third, love the pictures against the brick, so cool! Tell Aly she is even prettier when she smiles, she should share it more often.
