...like the wind...

I made a big purchase today. I believe it was well worth the investment. April begins my new training: I will be a RUNNER!! With my personal trainer at my side (aka Chato) I am really looking forward to this season. Running season. So with a new challenge comes the need for the proper gear. Last weekend, when we were downtown at Niketown, these puppies shimmered in the bright store lights. Admiringly, I walked away...thinking that maybe those would be the "Ones" that would help me on my journey to being fit. It didn't help that it was boldly posted that the entire profit from the shoe would go towards fighting cancer over at Livestrong - Lance Armstrong's Foundation. Today, it became a done deal. I slipped it on like Cinderella's slipper, and look forward to living happily ever after in them in the days, weeks, and months ahead...The kids just had to have new "sports gear" too. We have always known how much of a passion Brandan has for skating, and he has long grown out of his first pair of blades. Needless to say, he is as content as can be on this surprisingly beautiful 60 degree day.

We headed over to Momma and Papa's house and hit the sidewalks for a test spin or two. Aly is an old-fashioned four wheels in side by side mode kinda girl. She thought we were outta our minds asking here to upgrade to blades. We coaxed her into them, helped her along (with Papa out in the sunlight looking on)...

...and it didn't take long before she was on her own rolling along...
