Winter weather WARNING!!! Run for your lives...

Of all of the years (at least the past six) that Chato has taken on the Chicago Shamrock Shuffle, we have never had to deal with such brutal weather! More often than not, we enjoy mild 50s and the occasional 60s around this point to head downtown and be a part of the world's largest 8K run. (This year saw 30,000 registered runners numbered and ready to sprint.) But the snow brought on a new type of perspective for us to remember the 30th Annual event. The south end, near the finish line and Columbus park was a winter wonderland...This team bundled up and layered it on, unlike years past where they tear off and throw down articles of clothing just before the race starts.

Well, not everyone felt the need to wear clothing...

But my guy (in bright florescent yellow earmuffs) took on the slushy terrain as an excellent challenge and knocked last year's time by a good thirty seconds!
The Field Museum makes a nice back drop for this yucky 3-5inch snowy day.
Okay, nature you have had your laugh...now can you please send Spring our way?

The weather was terrible! I am ready for spring - I agree! Kudos to your DH & his team for running in that mess!
Have a great week!
