One heckuva send off...

Upon learning that my heart's truest pal was getting a promotion, we knew there would be no way we would let her go without a proper surprise party. Now getting her there would be no easy feat...but that smile would be all that mattered in the end. Elsa would deserve nothing less, and if we had to bring her to tears to let her know how much we love her, and how she would be missed from our everyday lives...then so be it. (please note: these teary-eyed pictures are being withheld at the request of our aforementioned guest of honor...death threats would haunt me otherwise. hee hee...)

We teared her up quite a few times, especially at the arrival of her parents. We must thank them for raising such an outstanding, responsible, hard-working, young lady.

We know that her twelve years spent in our school has built a strong foundation for education, passion, and friendship. We are so thankful for this.

There's not one face in attendance, whose smile didn't stretch from ear to ear to wish Elsa much success and happiness in her newest endeavors...

...of course, her favorite cannoli sure helped in the celebration.
I love to watch our staff come out and together at times like this. We were able to pass out sunflower petals to all of Elsa's students (past and present) and leaves to teachers and aides. Each person added their sentiments, memories, or something they learned from this exceptionally tremendous teacher. My friends (Nichole, Heather, Imelda, and Johanna) and I pieced them together for this 30x36 frame. May it hang in her new assistant principal office and lend her comforting thoughts in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.

The evening was beautiful; as we gathered with such heavy hearts, but were able to enjoy in the outstanding celebration for our dear friend.
There will surely be uncharted waters ahead...(how can I possibly make a commute without you by my side, dear friend?) I pray that our educational paths may one day cross again, where I can work with the expertise that has taught me so well over the past seven years. May you enjoy many years of enlightenment and joy in all you do. Best Wishes, Elsa!!!

God speed, Elsa! Good luck in all you do! I know Saucedo will not be the same without you, but your memory will live on in the hearts of all the students you touched!
