I've always been an antique soul at heart; listening to my grandfather's stories, flipping through old photographs, and digging into treasure chests of ancient political buttons and costume jewelry. Learning how to take my own photographs and age them backwards with a historical sentiment makes my soul take flight. My Photoshop Elements class over at Jessica Sprague's site has really inspired me to spend more time on the details in the pictures I snap daily. There are many free tips over HERE if you want to take on the challenges too.
I learned about TTV (Through the Viewfinder) photos today. Square pictures are my favorite, so this style really was easy to work with and alter. Turn of the century feel for my family swinging along just a month ago down at Navy Pier...
...and stretching back to July 2007 when we hit the beaches just outside of San Juan, Puerto Rico - I played with brown paper and film strip textures.
