the anticipation of a new school year starts here. This coming year is guaranteed to be filled many new experiences and bountiful lessons to be learned, no doubt. My heart has been racing to get into my brand new classroom/school (well, new to me!) and see what I can get going. Early last week, I day tripped over - about a 45 minute drive from my house - to check out my space and start my "to do list" for organization.
Bare walls are the best - so much to imagine and design (like one great big scrapbook page, huh?!) My new duds offer spacious 24x30 gracious old-school wood floors and a huge walk-in closet area with two ways to get in and out! This is so new to me!
I've definitely got some work to do back here, but it will be a great area for the kids to hang their backpacks and jackets on the walls.
The view from my windows may not be much but it is my favorite! So much sky to see (so much better than the brick wall I used to enjoy ;) ) If you look closely, you can see the train! I will be coming and going on it daily - and I can't wait to NOT drive to work everyday!

I've made a bit of progress this week. Library books out, desk fixed up and plenty of bright colors are soon to follow, but my favorite part of this room are the HUGE oval shaped windows at the top! They are amazing and such grand light filters through! Hey, Nichole - I promise to always keep the shades to the TOP - it will remind me of your classroom!
