dips at dusk

The evening required a nice, calming walk just as the sun set - down the sidewalks and over to the park's bleachers. The added addition of a soft serve ice cream cone, twisted up with vanilla and chocolate, closed out this summer day. There might not be many more of these left. For me, it was a time to savor the seconds of a warm breeze and cricket chirps before the next couple of weeks fly by and hectic battle of a new school year begins. There should be more requirements like this.

BTW, I love this dark, dusky picture. Just a hint of what is left of the day's sun and the deep shadows that cover the kids' skin - capturing the relaxed nature of a simple treat that wraps up the day.
