way back...

...at the beginning of the summer, the kids and I had the time to make fruit cups full of peach or strawberry yogurt, filled with a bunch of berries and banana slices and topped off with vanilla wafers. The days were long and these were the perfect snacks that would get us smiling in between meals. Today, we only have sweet memories of our sweet treats...I'd give anything to bring back the lazy days that June and July let us enjoy. We had no worries and we took the road less traveled for almost everything we accomplished.
...as this weekend wraps itself up = we find ourselves tousled back into the schedules and rigmarole that make up MOST of the year for us.

School is back in session Tuesday. The M - F routine will hit us squarely in the face with no time for sweet treats or slow walks. We learned a lot this summer; some lessons that we weren't ready for, others that stole our hearts, but in the end each summer goes away with the same ending: fond memories, lots of snaps, a few splashes of water, and the sweet taste of summer fruit.

Fare-the-well...friend.

I have such a different outlook. I never say good-bye to summer, because I love fall...cooler temps, apple and pumpkin picking. Sweaters and bon fires, beautiful fall colors! Fall is my favorite time of year!
