livin' la vida

without a FLASH. My favorite kind of world right now is setting the aperture and turning off the flash when I snap. I can't always guarantee that I will catch the action I want, and I am definitely more proficient in profiles, but I love that old-fashioned orange glow in the evening light. On Sunday afternoon we joined Griselda and Leo for dinner. The kids joined forces combining their Guitar Hero and DJ Hero systems. So, I took advantage of some beautiful faces and a great evening...Hours of playing and a wonderful meal were a perfect end to the end of our Christmas break.
It seems every year, I am determined to NOT create resolutions that typically end up broken. But this year, a little light bulb is shining above my head. It is my desire to bring my camera into the everyday life around us. I will continue to snap away on birthdays and holidays, but my intention lies deep in the moments I really want Brandan and Aly to memorize. Whether it is my father tickling Aly or Brandan doing his homework; my father-in-law having a tableside discussion or my Mom cleaning the house (constantly)...I NEED to collect them all.
It's bad enough that I'm already identified as the paparazzi when I'm around, but I've outgrown the criticism. Some of my best friends and family (including Aly) will hold their hand out to stop me...I love you all, but I will break you down...WATCH OUT. This is my new year vow. Vidictive? No. If my camera is aimed at you - it is you that I have in my heart.

Fab pics! I was really good about turning off my flash, but at some of the holiday gatherings, I got lazy and wanteed to make sure I got the shot-not some blur! Here is an idea of something to catch shots of the camera shy peeps: http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/candid-photography-spy-lens. I am thinking I want this for my birthday!

I agree...that soft orange glow versus the bright, washed out white flash is so much better!
