Last Saturday, BEFORE the Shamrock Shuffle 8k, we hit Navy Pier to pick up race packets and running gear for the event. Even though it is a typical trip, I have enjoyed making it the past couple of years with our buddies the Rangels, because the kids can run and jump throughout the exhibits and we always get cheap parking at the Pier (which is a VERY hard thing to do!)
Last year's impromptu photo shoot on one of the Pier's brick walls led Laura and I to get in some family shots this year. The kids weren't all into it, needless to say - but for the most part I am happy we were able to get some good smiles here and there.
So...on to the posers:

Maybe, I am biased...but this family is beautiful!

You know, these kids are like magic. They range in age from second grade through fifth. They have a variety of likes and dislikes. They compliment each other SO WELL. They bicker. They hug. They scream. They ROCK! It is the grandest feeling in the world to have best friends like this!

Nothing like a bunch of opposites -side by side- my little daylight and dark kids are a handful. I am so excited to watch them enter these tween years of attitudes and requests...NOT!

At least Aly didn't give me too much of a hassle taking her pictures. Well, maybe she just didn't realize it the whole time...

I have started Candice Strigham's photography class on the Spragueground site. I am working on my first lesson this week: Shutter speeds. I am looking forward to posting my work here and the mini-lessons that go with it. I WILL move the DSLR buttons away from auto mode! I WILL live life through the viewfinder on my camera more and more each day! I, also, am happy to announce that today is officially declared the start of Spring Break week. No big trips this year - homebodies we will be. Thinking that we can design out our own adventures out of the common everyday doings that we never have enough time to enjoy; and most often take for granted. Today is the day! Let's see what we can get ourselves into....

I am so excited to see you post your assignments too;P Love the pics against the brick wall...love how Aly is posing in the family one:) Hope you have an awesome spring break and that you make some time for some scrapping in between your adventures!!!
Moving away from Auto mode?! Sound dangerous, yet enticing! I have yet to move on to my second lens - with which I truely haven't had time to experiment with yet. Kudos to you, and I look forward to seeing those assignments:)
Also, you are not biased - you do have a beautiful family.
