It can't be long now. Each morning the sun is bright and shining EVEN when I walk out the door to head to the bus stop at 6:15am. The sun is STILL out EVEN when I get off the bus in the evening after 4:30pm. It can't be long now.
This evening, when I arrived home, the kids were playing OUTSIDE as the sun was setting in the Western sky. Such an unlikely scene; it has been quite sometime since the "block kids" were out and about. It can't be long now. The last bit of snow is dwindling away. The warmer temps (a whole 40+ degrees!) sure makes us think that it has to be right around the corner. It can't be long now.

Look at this girl. The cheeks aren't as rosy as when the frosty air nips at them, and one might even be able to count the freckles if it weren't for the setting sun's glare. Those golden eyes seem to glow with a sweet warmth that these days haven't played witness to for quite some time, either! The burly length of mane is in need of a trim -- one that hibernation never admits to, and the unbundled layers are absent from this setting.

This young man shows growth to me. The months have stretched him out and it is unbelievable that Sunday will bring celebrations of another birthday. Simple, but stern - he knows exactly what he wants, whether you can figure it out or not! Today, it is easy...he needs that fresh air to breath it in and gulp it down like a long lost friend.
