On Sunday, we headed a bit south...away from the urban sprawl and took the time to visit Fair Oaks Dairy in Indiana.
With more than 19,000 acres of land and 2,800 head of cattle this place is HUGE. Nothing compares to my Papa's Kentucky farm, but it was a great place to get away to for a couple of hours and let the kids "play".
With THAT many head of cattle, it is absolutely necessary to devise a contraption or mechanism that keeps these ladies in line and milked THREE times a day! Therefore, you have the ferris wheel of COWS...
We took a bus tour, a self guided walk, and checked out all of the kid-friendly activities there were on the grounds. The favorite by far was the GIANT milk carton climbing wall, where Brandan went up and down MULTIPLE times.
But the kids didn't pay much attention to much else that going up and down that crazy wall of milk! (This was the 7th or 8th attempt - I lost count after a while!)
We snacked on ice cream, bought some garlic parsley butter & some cinnamon flavored butter too, and then we headed off the eat at...
Crackel Barrel, of course.

This week is a bit uneventful, unless we make some SURPRISE plans. The weather has been up and down. We were fortunate enough to NOT endure the flooding waters that many of our friends and family members have this past weekend. I'm pretty sure that the kids will be opening up their kool-aid stand sometime this week. Brandan has blown all of his earnings on a small snow cone machine, but the logistics are still being determined. I am trying to wrap my head around organizing the house (keeping it clean!), playing in my scrap room (must get caught up with these pictures!), and starting to plan for a new school year (supplies, book lists, & planning, OH MY!), but the days just aren't long enough, are they?
