Chicago hosts...

When I first found out that CHA had returned to Chicago AND opened it's doors to the public, I was beside myself dreaming of the sights and sounds of new paper releases and scrap-lebrities.
------------------
Dream, I did. The reality wasn't quite as etched - and the silver lining was a mirage. The main PAPER people and the awesome new releases were dismantled before we could see them :(
---------------------------
We did get to see some cool products and try out some make and takes. There were a couple of nifty bargains to be had too! But my super hero scrapper extraordinaire, Jessica Sprague, was there to meet and greet us little people! I was a fan after taking her Photoshop classes a year ago, and I grew to love her website even more after taking Candice Stringham's Photography class this past Spring, but watching her teach her booth visitors -one by one- the elements of digital scrapping, was REALLY COOL! I am so glad that she hung out and met the crowds that came into the convention center on Friday and Saturday!
SO, a bit of this and that with my girls Ceci, Laura, and Michelle...
Nah, no matter...these girls made it SO much fun. We learned all kinds of tricks and used some new tools (that we are so eyeing to buy, right girls?) It was a good day spent playing.
------------------------
Today, our shipment of BIG items that we purchased in Mexico finally arrived. I've been waiting to see some of these goodies...My jarra has already found a home in the kitchen, while Brandan needs to work to season the molcajete until it is just right to start using for salsa and guacamole. Chato is on a new kick collecting box matches. We need to hang our bamboo on a wall in our bedroom (the colors are fabulous in real life and match great with our walls!) We've added another Don Quixote (or two) to our collection, but OUR main dude hasn't found home quite yet. I am looking to add a bit o sparkle to his eye with a touch of pecan varnish to smooth out his rough edges (and hopefully add to his life span). I didn't seem to notice so much when I first fell in love, but his pupil-less eyes are freaking me out! Oh well, he knows we will treat him well...and hopefully he will care enough to protect us from all else, as well!

Oh man, sorry to hear CHA was sorta a disappointment. It would seem that the bigger names would want consumers to see their products so that they could harass their LSS and online stores to order it for them! That is so awesome that you got to meet JS though!!

Yay for getting your goodies from Mexico too!! What is the sunflower jug looking thing? That looks cool!

What does CHA stand for? Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I scrapped for a few hrs yesterday - I have A LOT to get done! Do you know of any stores on the south side?

Beautiful stuff from Mexico!!
