contructing

Things are coming along now over at the "construction site". The cement has been replaced to give a new look and shape to the driveway. The lumber to BUILD was brought in UP and over the roof top and placed into the backyard.
And, this past week building started with the first level flooring and walls for the sunroom and family room portions of the back of the house. The framing, Mom said, was amazing to watch.
By early afternoon, even though the cloud cover made things look dreary, the 1st floor was up and looking good. I've gotta give it up for technology. I am able to get pictures here and there throughout the week to see what is going on while we aren't able to be there to see it all.
It's not until the evenings that we SOMETIMES get the chance to head over and check out all the new stuff going in and being added on.
The weather took a toll on the end of the week's production. Rain and cold air is making us all get the sniffles and chills. We are looking forward to some sunny days and seeing the second floor framing shoot up. I'm thinking it won't be long now before I have evening house guests...

Thus far, construction of our BACK TO THE ROUTINE routine is going okay. We are starting to get back in the loop. You know how it goes...hating the alarm clock, bites of school lunches, it's getting dark earlier...all a part of the "Welcome to Fall" program that we love to hate. Granted, I did see some leaves starting to blush. That is one thing I am all for - that and sweater weather...which the kids got new ones yesterday - that I will HAVE to take pictures of SOON...they are quite "cool", if I do say so my self.
