at it's best

At last weekend's update, we were left with the skeletal structure of the addition to the house over at Mom & Dad's place, but by this weekend we arrived to find...
...one happy couple and a wonderful rough structure showing its face just over the roof's horizon.

The backyard is still full of odd wood, old bricks, and crumpled up siding, but you wouldn't notice any of that now....
Inside the rough structure you can check out both the first and second floors from the balcony landing.
Eventually, the balcony will be lined with oak railing that peers down into the sunroom below it.

From the outside looking into those two huge windows the sunroom will have plenty of light, including two skylights from above.
We are amazed at how the structure stretches back. It really doesn't take up that much yard space, but it is huge how it add space onto the house.
The kids have gotten into the act of claiming rooms -- "This one is where I am going to sleep!" -- and working with left over wood...
I see engineering in their future...
On Saturday the stairs were installed, reaching up...
...to the tops of that future, fabulous balcony.
Hopefully, we will see drywall and brand new glass windows soon!
