See that kid?
Number 7 - He belongs to me.
All the energy and craziness in the world you can image wrapped up into 56" inches...Brandan's first 6th grade basketball game started off our holiday weekend Wednesday evening. I've seen this kid in a variety of arenas looking for THAT sport. He's got his black belt in Tae Kwan Do. He dabbled in wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts. He has worked himself into a fever trying to get me to let him play football and take on amateur boxing. He loves nine holes on the greens. He spent this past spring looking into both indoor and outdoor soccer. But somewhere just beyond the blur......I saw a different passion in him on this night.

He seemed driven; completely aware of what he needed to do and where he wanted to be at.
His famous little smart mouth was put to good use, too. He loved being able to shout orders and yell out as he played.
These kids were super fast up and down the court. My shutter speed versus the indoor lighting were NOT the best of friends, but there were a few that were priceless...Look at that face! It cracks me up how you can see the determination, all the while, the force of those crazy looking spaghetti arms and blurred motion packed feet depict the speed of the game. They played 2 fifteen minute periods. Did they win? No. They are still building steam this bunch of wannabe NBA players, and everyone starts somewhere, right? St. Rene's 6th graders took it this time, but we will see St. Rene again...B's best buddy Cristian will be on that lineup. I see a storm brewing.
It was a job well done for a first timer. That's right, baby. Your Momma has her camera trained on you. Can't wait to see what you do next time!
