gingerly...

We had planned last evening just a bit differently. But, as the adage goes...not all things are meant to be. We got a late start on building our gingerbread house after out searching the stores for new snow sleds (replacing recently busted and bruised ones) with none to be found. Brandan wasn't very interested in helping on house construction, but the icing sure did taste good...Aly set off to doing it on her own, completely satisfied to make her own design, UNTIL....
...Icing Boy returned to take another lick or two...
It was fairly cute - as cute as pre-made gingerbread can be, but something horrendous must have occurred - because 30 minutes later there was an avalanche of sorts and...
...the roof gave way to heavy snow...errr...icing drifts. Oh well, the ginger people seem to still be smiling so it can't be all that bad, huh?
---------------
It is Christmas eve morning here NOW. Time to fluff the pillows and pull out the stops (milk and cookies) - Santa is soon to be on his way! MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!

Same thing happened to our house last year. I found that making my own super sticky icing was the trick we needed to keep it together.

Merry Christmas!!!

I hope you were able to repair the gingerbread house. Cute anyways. I wonder why Brandon wasn't interested?

That is a cute kit, the same thing happened to us the first year we did one. A didn't mind...she took it as a reason to eat the house (even if they do taste like cardboard!).
