Early Monday afternoon, we headed out to the forest preserves. Brandan didn't seem to mind. He's been all about the outdoors lately. Didn't matter whether it was his birthday or not...he's been craving fresh air. Didn't matter the temperature either. He seems to be weather-proof lately; thinking it has something to do with his newly assigned age.
But I, on the other hand, am NOT weather proof. Granted my down-filled, knee-length jacket keeps me toasty, but I've had it with the dreary winter-ness of it all. The yucky, drab colors...
This little guy, above, was sooooo cute. He wouldn't stop stretching out his neck to see what we were up to...he was just about as curious as we were looking back at him!

Maybe that is why I pulled out these pictures to play with...
I derived "this SPRING day" layout from Creative Scrappers Sketch #146. I took it into a two page spread and added some Mister Huey's Calico Cream mist (by taking the nozzle out of the bottle instead of spraying it). I also hand pieced a letter together that I was short on (tell me you don't see it!) and fell in love all over again with the 70 weather we enjoyed almost one year ago to date.

thanks for the comment on the teal journaling ... totally need to play with that some more.
i love your "drab" color scheme and empty trees .... the trees here always seem to be green. :)
I sooooo HEAR you about the weather. I just said to J yesterday that this winter seems to be lasting so much longer than others. Why is that? Summer always flies by too. We are all in need of a lovely spring break!
Loooove the pictures!! I really like how you turned the cs sketch into a 2 pager too, clever!
See...weather totally affects me too, which is why it may have been a good thing we didn't move to Portland where it is gray and rainy for so much of the year. I love sunshine:)
And yeah, A is totally weather-proof too;)
Beautiful pages! I have to say, I didn't notice the pieced "r" until you pointed it out. Really, I didn't see it at all!
