Knowing that we wouldn't be in town to celebrate Aly's turning of digits, we had pizza and cake at home on Saturday evening. She enjoyed friends and family and an enormous triple chocolate mocha fudge cake that was the sweetest and richest we had ever seen.

Before daybreak the next morning, we headed north for Minnesota. With the sun at our backs, we drove upwards through Wisconsin and over to the suburbs of the twin cities.

Granted, a few of us couldn't handle the early rising...which is unusual for the early bird boy. Aly was wide awake with anticipation, though.

...some adorable little Eiffel Tower earrings! The perfect color, too. (Sad note though: Although they matched her birthday outfit for Monday just so, all it took was one ride on a roller coaster for the left one to come up missing!)
We wrapped up Sunday evening back at the Water Park of America (in our hotel). It may have been chilly willy outside, but it was toasty warm inside!
