Of fathers, family & fun...

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. ~Clarence Budington Kelland
------------------
An most fitting set of words for this day, I believe.

We day tripped ourselves downtown yesterday.
The weather was perfect June style, summer in Chicago beautiful.
We hit up the Art Institute and took in some perspective...
All the Miro, Pollack, and Picasso one could desire was wrapped along the walls in the Modern wing. I still have some getting used to the new layout of the museum's structure, but we hopped and skipped through some abstract pieces.
Aly considered the one above as "anything you want it to be" - I couldn't have said it better myself.
------------------
Since the day was sweet, we walked down to Millennium for a splash or two.
Taking time to dry off, watch the passer-bys, and contemplate what to do next...
...relaxation is key.
The "bean" was extra crowded. Maybe this week's Steinberg article in the Sun-Times was correct. We have fell in love with this odd shaped city artifact. Or maybe it's the only way we can all get into the picture without asking for help...
And it's here where I tell you that I love this city. It freaks me out at times; the fast pace, the unusual events, the fearful unknown...but it is one big urban outlet that I love to see the kids explore.
It was a perfect afternoon.
Aly would not let us leave downtown without stopping by Sugar Bliss first, as you can see.
She was right.
My margarita mini cupcake hit the spot.
