of freedom and faith

There were glorious blue skies on this peaceful day of remembrance, just like the ones that we enjoyed ten years ago. We've defined and redefined freedom and faith many times over the last few years. In fact, it is the only truth that Aly has ever known. I want to tell her that we once flew the skies without taking off our shoes at the gates, without "no-fly" zones, without tension of underground train rides with strangers who have different perceptions. I hope, one day, we can live again where nations travel carefree to take in and explore each other's wonders, so she can see it first hand and not have to imagine it. Thank goodness for hope and optimism.
------------------------------
On that same note...It took a bit of good time, but hope, optimism and a lot of patience finally got Mom and Dad back into their house today. Yes, there is still a dumpster on the side drive, but the countertops are in and the everything is functional. I bet they will be so glad to get back into their own bed tonight (after nearly nine weeks at my house!)
----------------------------
I'm in love with the colors in the kitchen, and can't wait to see the back splash up on the back wall.
Yes. There is still cardboard covering the floor until the rest of the railing and furniture moving is complete. We moved all the boxes from the garage back into the house for the unpacking process. (You would think they moved from one house to another....well, in a way they did!) It will still be awhile, but everything is truly coming together now.
----------------------------
The first week of school did exhaust me, but with all the moving, I did get the chance to enjoy this beautiful couple's company! It won't be long at all now before Sena and Fred's big day!! Thanks for having me at the shower guys!
...and thanks for letting me take THESE pictures of you both and making them a part of your invitations and guest book, too!! <3 <3 <3
But with all time spent this weekend, it is time to get this new week started and there is TONS to do....I'm going to need a bit more faith to survive it all!
