my soul packed up in a box

This is just down right painful. I knew the day would come. I knew we would make the decision to pull out the paint cans and finally give a new coat of color to the walls. But pack up my scrapbook stuff? Hide it away in boxes? Ugh. If you know my downstairs, you know there is a hidden room just off to the side, behind the laundry room. It has ample space for a glorious little private heaven. I've made due with the rigged shelves my good old, late buddy Jim put in place for this crazy-minded, book-loving girl a few years back. I've played around with the hard plastic folding tables and moved them around in a wild arrangement of configurations.
But the time has come. I am no fly-by-night hobby seeking scrapbooker. Chato knows that I mean business, and if I have said I WILL scrap every picture I snap until my dying day, then I might as well have a permanent SCRAP SPACE.

So, today, it looks like this...
...and the barren shelves, scattered supplies, and unorganized piles will soon be only a memory.

I've filled twelve boxes so far; you can see that there is still so much more that needs to be packed. Between my favorite teacher books and scrap supplies galore - I dream of a clean, uncluttered view. Its going to take some effort.

Am I going to scrapbook soon? Don't doubt me...I've packed an emergency kit filled with adhesive, paper cutter, kraft paper, scissors, markers, and my favorite Kraft Girl Kits. One day at a time, I guess. So, I guess I won't mention that we are working on the family room, too, huh?!

Wish us luck!
