Finally, after three days of trying to figure out Pacific Time, I think our bodies have adjusted to the difference of four hours. Now this was one incredibily LONG day that drifted event into another celebratory event.
We spent the entire day out on the North Shore, Polynesian Cultural Center. My dreams of rainbow colors came true, but at this late hour I have no intentions of sorting through some glorious 250+ pictures. There was a sight to see at every angle. The kids couldn't keep their eyes in their sockets, and too, both became famous by the end of the day.
As we toured through the villages, and stopped in Samoa to learn the trade of making fire, weaving palms, and opening coconuts, we met up with an unsuspecting man who made a woven head lei for Aly and another "visor" for Brandan - the pics are surreal - how he could do it (hands and feet included!) Later on we crossed his path again - while catching a front row seat at a Samoan side show - and he pulled Brandan on stage to drink coconut juice with him! It was so funny! This wasn't the last we would see of him.
We headed to our luau and Aly was pulled over by Cousin Benny (who has a talent for playing the ukuelele with his teeth and behind his head) to snap a impromtu picture!
The night still wasn't over, as we attended the Horizons show, where all of the polynesian cultures came together to perform, and where, once again, we met up with our funny weaver, who we had no idea was the star of the evening show - spinning with fire sticks.
It was a great time, and I know you will believe me once I upload those pictures. But you will have to tuck in the lower lips...tomorrow is another day.
