Okay, I know...rough translation needed for that title that I concocted. Of course, this is Waikiki and we spent it ma kai (shore side) ku 'u ipo (my sweetheart). Up before dawn, we reserved ourselves two spots: one poolside, one shoreside. The sunrise didn't stop the kids from wading through the chilly waves and playing in the sand, but once again a heavenly message was sent to tell us to stay closer to the ocean...
This kid and his recent acrobats have found a soft pad to land upon.
There's no time spent better than letting sand flow through your hands.

At lunch time, there is nothing better than a footlong dog to fill your tummy.
Our evening carried us off to Chinatown (the scariest one I have ever been to), but paved roads led us to the Aloha Tower and the quirky Don Ho's Island Grill. (Come on - what is Waikiki without Don Ho?) A few shopping excursions and a stroll along the shipping port to end another day.

One last note of affection for my dear cousin: Claudia, look! Betty loves Hawaii and says you should come visit too!
It is time for this haole (non-native) girl to rest up for tomorrow's adventure at the Polynesian Cultural Center - I am dreaming of wonderful over the rainbow colors!
A hui hou!
Good Bye!
