Step by step, we have FINALLY finished our family room (it only took eight years of wishful thinking!) with the last step: new furniture! On Friday morning, I played the waiting game. I waited for the furniture delivery. I waited for the new window treatments to be installed. I waited and waited. Let it be known that they all arrived within 5 minutes of one another.
The before pictures are great stretches of floor and open windows...minus my grandparents' rocking chair which is the only piece that reserved its honorable home.
After about three hours of installation and set up, we had a completely transformed, comfy and warm family room. We still have some fine tuning to do, fix the entertainment center (the 55" arrives Thursday) and learn the ropes of finding the sweet spots on the sofa, but we are in love!
We are looking to add a rectangular rug under this table, and shipment was delayed for the one that will lie under the coffee table near the sofa, but I adore how everything fits just so!
The kids are convinced - they have been watching movies ALL morning in the new space!I'm scared to disrupt their concentration by snapping a pic! ;)

Oh my GOSH!!! I can't wait to come over and sit (a.k.a throw myself) on that oval chair! It looks absolutely fabulous! I'm convinced---I'm giving you a budget. How soon can you start on my house?
My gosh! Your place is beautiful! I love that super long couch! Wow! I love the round one too. You are so good at decorating!!!! Maybe that is why you are so good at scrapbooking too, you just have that eye! Love what you have done to your home!
