...these days would go just a bit slower. If I could just figure out how to freeze time with my camera shutter so that I may reach out and count the freckles on this dear boy's face. The silence of his simple smile is bliss - you know this to be true - if you know Brandan! With the coming of twenty ten, we seemed to have been a bit more reflective this year than most. Noting how fast a decade slips by with diapers and baby carriages that turn into skate boards and guitars is something that has been very difficult for Chato and I to swallow lately. Such the personalities that these kids of ours have developed and are determined to use. The moments I wish to capture most --- are sometimes the hardest, especially when a certain little girl makes invisibility wishes. Either she has been reading a magical spell book again, or my passionate lack of flash desire has caught me off guard again...but I do believe she really wants out of my pictures!! Alyce Ilyza, if you have learned anything over the course of the past eight and a half years - you should know that you were born with a lens aiming straight at you - get over it and smile, please?!
She need not worry - I WILL catch her; she will have plenty of childhood to pass on to her own descendants whether she LIKES it today or not!

So, we may spend days full and frenzied; and we may find the softer side of life with those lazy days, too - but no matter where 2010 takes us we plan to continue to record it all. With the kids getting older (and too smart for their own good) I have passed the digital framing over to them. We may not always be caught in the most flattering of poses, but I can guarentee that they will be geniuine piece of our lives...the ones that we truly want to remember.

And with that, we hold dear these past two weeks, where life allowed us to do what we love most - together. Where the days weren't so harried. Where the minutes had let us take the time to sip hot chocolate and laugh over board games. Where it was easy to hear the second hand move around the clock...
Back to the reality of the non frequent postings and some cold Chicago days...

Boo. So how many days until spring break? Love the pic of Brandan, what a sweetheart! You can tell he has such gentle soul in that pic. I love the one of you and Chato too! So cute! I totally need to get more pictures of Shaun and I together this year!
Admit it, girl! There is a part of you that wants to go back to work!
I must say, that pic of you and C is so relaxing. :)
