alot o'bit

A day like today, a typical Sunday, was a perfect kind of plan for Brandan; only he would do it with a huge smile on his face. There was no whining about what needed to be done. There would be no fussing over what would happen next. He knew it was coming. He was going to have one heckva day, no matter what anyone put in his way.

Today, my first born turned eleven years old. And as typical as the whole day was -- he enjoyed every second of it knowing that it was his to spend. So when it was time to head to church and fulfill his alter boy duties, he jumped into line with his typical crew (They have been at it for nearly two years now; the three of them holding the line).Next stop, breakfast with the family, Momma and Papa joined us for a meal fit for a king: A Belgian waffle, two scrambled eggs, and a side of hash browns -- all of it devoured by this innocent looking "tween".
Off to a soccer game, his third this indoor season, was on the agenda, too.

Somewhere in the middle he realized that the clock hit 12:59pm and he was an official eleven year old kid!! So Dad snapped an official down to the minute picture.
Afterward, we met up with the rest of our family over at Home Run Inn for pizza.
There is nothing like pepperoni pizza for an eleven year old birthday dinner...
...unless you count the surprise ice cream sundae when everyone gathers to sing!
These faces make his day everyday, so it wouldn't have been a party without them!
Now, as we are winding down the evening, Brandan is kicking back, enjoying his new birthday present in the comfort of his own bed (opting for an LCD instead of a new loft unit).
Enjoy it, kiddo!

Growing up happens so fast, but there are signs that the kid is strong stuck inside there at least for now...I overheard a conversation between Brandan and his Grandma on Saturday evening:

Grandma: You love me? a little bit?
Brandan: Yes, Momma. A lot o'bit. That means 101%, Momma.

Pure. Simple. We love you a lot o'bit, too, Brandan.
Happy Birthday, baby boy.
