celebrating Mommy

Cool temperatures abound with a glimmer of sun streaked sky - we paid homage to the women who taught us to be strong, straight forward individuals on this day. I often wonder about the stories I don't know about my great grandmothers and grandmas, so I wish to leave the trail full of histories that describe the people we are TODAY. My Mom brought me up in a world full of protection and restrictions, being an only child, it was one heck of a world to live in - one that I never could get, always made sure to argue about, and today reflect upon as I raise two children of my own.

It astounds me that I tell her: "You were right, Mom. I get it now. Thank you for hanging in there with me and holding on so tight." Twenty-five years ago, my jaw would have dropped to meet the person I am today. I can only pray that Aly and Brandan get to meet themselves down the line and pass on this advice, if it makes swallowing it any easier.I am blessed with two beautiful, healthy kids. They are tons of fun, loads of trouble, and fill my heart each and every time they smile. (Well, Aly means to smile...it's just her stubborn pose..which I can't imagine where she gets it! :) )
I've still got my hands full, each and every day, and I am glad for it. My husband gifted me with such beautiful little humans; I can't imagine life without their personalities in it. There are tweaks and twists to the every moment, but I know that the Lord's intentions are what will be laid out for us - we will get there just as we are supposed to: TOGETHER

Love the pictures-you're so right about refelceting...I find myself repeating phrases I couldn't stand when I was a kid and now I get most of the protectiveness too;)
Cute new hair:)
