day one: WITL

Sunday: 5/16/2010
Awoke to sunshine and 60 degree temps. Brandan and Chato were up before dawn, all the while, the girls in this house, hid under the covers. As Chato heads out the door to play the typical Sunday 18, Brandan attends to the television and video games while snacking on butterscotch pudding and Cheetos. (NO, of course I did not approve!)I pull myself up and out of bed to get the laundry in...this household can't fight dirty clothes during the weekdays.
As I trudge off to the bathroom, Aly continues to snore away...
I finally get the kids to get a bowl of cereal, the easiest mode of breakfast on a day when we want to get it started fast.
Brandan heads off outdoors - finding all the wheels that make him move - bike, skateboard, blades...

And there sits Aly...in STUCK mode - waiting to get that burst of energy to greet the day.
By this time Chato is on the back nine driving and teeing his way to the 18th hole.
His favorite buddies wrap it up...
Aly finally arises from her zombie mode, but fusses about having to get into the shower.
As soon as Chato arrives home, we turn to walk back out the door and hit the stores. First stop: Target to get those odds-n-ends of the everyday week along with some birthday presents for an upcoming party.
Second stop: Home Depot where we bump into our best buddies the Guerrero family!
We pick and choose from a variety of annuals and perennials to fill the backyard with some spring and summer color. Load 'em up and head home. We will see the Guerreros later on.
Aly unloads the flowers. She has become such the gardener lately!
This is our new friend: Mr. Plant
Doesn't he look like a little man sitting there?
Aly jumps around while waiting for Mom and Dad to get their garden gloves on. (Note the emptiness of our flower bed just behind her.)
Brandan learns to snap pics too...Good eye, son!
I plant...
..and get the results of hard work...on my hands.
(Note to self: Make manicure appt!)
The froggies enjoy their new floral surroundings.
Chato starts up the grill.
Time to eat...
Momma and Papa joins us...
..as do the Guerrero's - YUM, Cris, that looks good!
I love Sundays just like this...

Thoughts on Sunday:
For Springtime, this is a pretty typical weekend. We may sleep in a bit longer, and the chores are attempted before we head out to run errands. Running into good friends is a plus. Time well spent.
