resolute

I spoke of ONE happy boy yesterday. This is the ONE......that got to enjoy the Chicago Bulls play at United Center on New Year's Eve. He knows all the players by name and cheers and jeers at every turn of the ball. He was also sitting in Heaven, surrounded by a suite full of treats and personal Chefs......while sister girl modeled her supportive ear wear! She has so been in love with earrings this past year. It's the one thing she takes better care of than her books! There is a pair for every occasion - just about!
Me? I'm not sporty girl. I know how to watch it, somewhat UNDERSTAND it, and sit on the sidelines next to it, but I'd rather enjoy the comforts of the suite life! So drool if you must, but this turtle brownie was all mine. It was hard to choose from the magnificent dessert cart, as those of you who have been to the suite may know, but I was in a chocolate mood...and made it about a third of the way through it before I gave up trying to battle it.
Brandan chose a lemon bar topped with ice cream, while Chato went with an Oatmeal cookie. Aly always eyes the cute stuff and had already taken a bite out of the horn before I could snap a picture...
My little wanna-be twin sized kids showed off their height (or lack there of) while cozy-ing up to Derek Rose.
Aren't they cute?
So, said boy was resolute in showing his emotions for the game as it wound down in the fourth quarter.
At one point you could keep him still. He flailed around so much that they put him on the Jumbotron - and that sent him into orbit. (SO wish I had caught that on my camera!)
This determined kid had his heart set on enjoying the game. His purpose was accomplished.
He had the temper, spirit, and actions all in right gear. Now how do I channel this into his school work? :)
-------------------------
On that note, we are trying to shake ourselves out of this dreamy world we have been living in. It is time to face reality and let this winter vacation end. :( 17 days sure went by super fast here. We loved all the cookies we had time to make. Christmas was just the right amount of giving and receiving. Days to be lazy and days to clean up and reorganize were in great amount. If only I had one more to scrap a bit more, but... C'est la vie.

We will head back to the grindstone and work a bit harder for the pay out - even if we don't live long enough to see the dividends we know two things: Everything is temporary and we mustn't take anything for granted. So, I'll follow the seven dwarfs back into the mine and pray for a spring break light at the end of the tunnel!!

Love the pictures...seems like Brandan has found his game! Yikes...is spring break really the next break or just the next long one? Hopefully it will fly by for you or you can sneak in some scrap time before then;)
