A couple of weeks back, one of my favorite comadres decided to put together a book club, and I jumped at the chance to get back into reading again. I am so glad I did! Patty has knack for organizing (yes, she's a teacher too!) chapters and set our goals for us to read Dancing with Butterflies. I ordered my book through Amazon and stalked the mailman for a week. I received the book two days before the first four paced chapters were due!! We maintained a group/chat on Facebook to discuss what we were reading character by character or problem to problem. I hit that fourth chapter mark just in time, but didn't hesitate to read right through to the end before chapter 5,6,& 7 were due the following Friday.
Needless to say, Reyna Grande's story left me wanting to follow the characters more and more. (I love a book that has that kind of lasting impression!) I quickly picked up her other book (her first published piece) Across a Hundred Mountains. I finished it in a 48 hour period flat. Loved it even more!! Now I await her memoir.

So, last evening Las Comadres met up at Patty's house, and the conversations flowed; envisioning the characters and their struggles...

So fun! I always wanted to join a book club, but never found one that was reading something that interested me (other than Oprah's club....lol). Have fun!
That is so awesome:) I think I would like to join a book club too...that I so smart that you have the fb page for discussing the book!
