oh, sweet sand...

...we have missed you so.When Margie said, Let's GO to the beach! I was sold. She packed up her family......and Nichole packed up hers...and we played in the sand and surf from late morning until the sunset that evening. The Warren Dunes in Sawyer, Michigan offered us the inviting shoreline of our beautiful lake. No hustle and bustle of the downtown venues. Wide open stretches of endless waves to play with were in store!
This was our home away from home yesterday...
Not a neighbor in sight while the men held down the fort!
---------------------
We, from time to time, kept seeing a passerby cross our path full of caked on clay. Our curiosity couldn't keep us away, as we followed the trail to a tributary lined in a gray muddy silt...
What a blast to PLAY in the MUD!Our day was nearly ten hours long. We had the MUSCLE pack it in for us...
...but Margie suggested one last romp: up the dune we went!
tiny, tiny girls...Bianca and Aly led the way behind Brandan.
I've never felt so weak in the knees after trekking THIS, but we made it to the TOP!
-------------------
What a FABULOUS day spent. The kids are ready to go back in a heart beat!
...and the ADULTS are, too!
A HUGE hug to these guys for introducing us to this new playground! The sunset capped it off just right.
Glorious!
