day seven: WITL

last day of documentation: Saturday, May 22, 2010
I can't believe our week has flown by so fast. It was pretty typical. It had it's moments. We captured some good. We captured some bad. There were days where we took lots of pictures that told stories, and there were days, I am sure, that we missed a few...like the arguments between a mother and a son or the moment I got caught in a HUGE downpour and my knight in shining armor picked me up from the bus stop. I guess I was fortunate to make it to the seventh day before Aly pulled out her pouting face...
...but always the poser, Brandan saved the shot.
Saturday was such a beautiful, sunny day. It was nice enough to pull out the camera remote and catch a family pic or two (minus the squinting).

All it takes is a remote to bring out the "sillys" in the scene.
(How can you NOT love these GOOF BALLS?)
We headed to the northside for a birthday party, but took a shortcut through the city...err...wait, where did our city go? We started the morning with tons of fog, which had lifted at home, but still lingered all over the tall buildings downtown.
Even the beaches hadn't broke out of it's fog by 2:30pm or so.
i love this city...
At a pirate party, the kids took on character roles.Aly struggled with her eye patch. We had to tell her to cover the "injured" one...
which made her happy.
And Brandan ate...
...and ate...
...and ate.
Don't ask what his white t-shirt looked like in the end. Anyone have pre-spot spray?
------------------------------
Chato got in on the dress-up.
Awwwww....his first facial hair!!

The kids dug for buried treasures...
...and fought for rights to the pirate ship...
...but the real loot was just a swing away.
We celebrate Pablo and Ale's birthday with cake.
It was a wonderful party!
-------------------------------
At evening's end we hit the grocery store for the week's supply. I am a sucker for the colors in the produce aisle.
So, how much food does a family of four need? Well, let's just say we do MUCH better when the kids don't come along and ADD in their wants to the cart. Can you see the makings of Smores? and Jello? and chips & cereal galore?
So, as evening falls...we head home to unload the food and call it a night.

I'm going to work on piecing the WITL album together, knowing that it will take me a bit longer to sort through it all, because the weeks ahead of us are full: Next stop - packing for Memorial day weekend in KY, followed by wrapping up this school year, and getting ourselves ready for a two week adventure South of the Border. All in this next MONTH! phew...

LOVE!!! Love the gorcery store shots and all the silly silly shots of that day. I really wish I would have got a family of four picture during that week! Can't wait to see what your completed album looks like!
