festividades de Ocampo

First things first...get $$ for shopping. It's miercoles here - and los miercoles are important days for sales. This day, though, is part of the "Fiesta de San Juan Bautisto" celebration, and the streets are filled with venders, games, and rides.
Typically, when we are in Guanajuato, we are always on the look out for Don Quixote...
...so we were surprised to have found him right here in Ocampo, in 3x4ft canvas! Do you think we could find a wall for him? Maybe I'll hang him in Mom's new sunroom? What do you think...Mom? Perfect colors?!
-------------------
The kids played tons of games. I loved the huge feathered darts for popping the balloons.
Ancient Foosball machines were enchanting and entertaining.
Brandan took a turn on a mechanical bull...
While I enjoyed the sites of the plaza full of vendors.
Later in the evening, Brandan began bartering for odds-n-ends ALL ON HIS own...
...and content with his purchases.
The lights were wonderful, the sounds of the festival wonderful and joyous...
...and when it came time to eat...
...don't let anyone tell you that side street vendors are NOT a good place to enjoy food.
...because they don't have any idea what they are missing.
That was yesterday...
Today we look forward to bull fights and fireworks, ferris wheels and folkloricos...we will see where the day takes us.
