saludos San Miguel de Allende...

My favorite haunt by far...it always has a place in my heart; San Miguel is a place of great beauty, language and art. It is a place that I one day wish to spend LOTS of time. I get anxious just peeking around corners to get there... Each time we have visited San Miguel, we have stayed somewhere different (I have plenty of recommendations for friends if you need them!) This visit, I chose to make reservations for La Casa Rosada. It was gorgeous!! We were steps behind the church, one block from the plaza principal. Our room was huge, yet simple without a room number; yet it had a letter for identification: H
This is the view from our patio...
We ate lunch at La Farguera, and became enamored with Agua del Melon...
...un poco de guacamole...
...ensalada de fruta...
...y margaritas de fresa.
All of that food and some sweet music was a great was to roll with the afternoon.
We found our friends Don Quixote and Sancho again...(they seem to follow us everywhere!)
Above is another view of our hotel. looking up towards our terrace, while below is the gorgeous church in our backyard...
For those of you who have seen Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" YOU have seen this church - The inside is lined in gold fixtures. Many of the scenes of that movie were filmed between here and Guanajuato - and I will gladly point them out to anyone who wants to watch it with me!!
A little bit of shopping ...
Brandan and Aly had their names woven for them...
This is our hallway, our door is the second one on the right.

By evening, rain from our friendly hurricane Alex had set in...
...but we didn´t let us keep us from playing in it...
...but we did end the night with a tremendous view from our balcony. Brandan loved it, while I uploaded pictures from the night before... :)

As we wrap up this trip to San Miguel, we head back to Ocampo to finish out the week and the end of our trip. We will return to reality sometime next Tuesday, and have great stories to share with all!!

What a gorgeous town! Makes me want to visit!

I'm envisioning a map of Mexico in your scrap album with dots on the places you visited and string connecting the dots to show the path you traveled!

Love that beautiful church and the hotel looks amazing! Funny, Shaun and I were talking about that movie last night because we were talking about the director or that movie! I will have to show him your pics now:)
